All about Mrs. Cocke
Hi, my name is Lijae Cocke. I am married with 2 kids, Francesca (5th) and Madison (8th). This will be my 13th year in education. I previously lived in Texas were I obtained my Bachelor's, Masters and Gifted Certification. I am currently working on my Gifted certification for Louisiana.
I enjoy going to the beach or body of water; with a good book in hand. I'm addicted to coffee, dark chocolate and Amazon Prime, lol.
Project Based Learning
I am excited and feeling extremely positive about our program moving to a project based program. This year students will engage in Project Based Learning that provides
- inquiry
- student led instruction
- across content learning
- student choice and options in the process
- problem solving
- collaboration in groups
- production of a final product or a sharing of findings

Headphones
Personal earbuds and a set of 5 shared headphones are available for student use. Students are allowed to bring their own if they prefer. Please don't send expensive headphones or earbuds.
Books & More Books!
Our classroom accepts any and all book donations. Drop them by the school or let me know and I'll come pick them up. We especially love books about different science topics, historical events, riddles/brain teasers/jokes, interesting facts, and art.
