For this project, I teamed up with Kelsey Rytina where we both researched the use and availability of technology in a country of our choice. I chose Cape Town, South Africa because I wanted to find out if their geographical location, along with their long history of apartheid, had any lasting effects on their technological advances. Kelsey, on the other hand, chose Peru, a country in South America. Individually, we each created Word Documents to communicate our research findings. We then collaborated to make a PowerPoint Presentation that compared and contrasted both countries.
The learning opportunities in this project were numerous. I enjoyed using my Word Processing skills to create a visually appealing yet informative document. Through my research on South Africa, I learned that it actually has 3 separate capitals: Cape Town, Pretoria, and Bloemfontein. This was interesting to me because it is uncommon. Most countries only have one capital city. In addition, I learned that Lima, the capital of Peru, is one of South America's most populous cities.

This was a very fun project to complete because there were a lot of opportunities to collaborate and be creative. Kelsey and I primarily used email to communicate with other. This worked best because we had different schedules and were often online at different times. Although we shared our document via email, I created and shared a PowerPoint file with her which allowed us to simultaneously work on the presentation together.
