As Educational Assistants, it is important that we aim to support students with all exceptionalities and make sure they are able to access everything according to their needs.
ALT Text: Throughout my e-portfolio I have added ALT text for visitors who are unable to see images that I have added. I have added alt text to all images throughout my portfolio.
Font Sizes and Types: I have added specific font sizes and types throughout my e-portfolio. It was important that I used accessible font and font types because it makes it easier to read text that I have included. I used the Arial font type throughout my entire e-portfolio. I used font size 60 for page headings, font size 30 for regular headings and font size 16 for body text.
Headings: Headings are great for organizing the content throughout the portfolio because it allows people who use accessibility devices to find information quickly and easily. I have used headings and subheadings throughout my e-portfolio to allow for visitors to find my content more efficiently. It was important that I did not bold or color any headings as some devices do not pick them up.
Accessible Hyperlinks: I added several hyperlinks throughout my portfolio to make it easier for visitors of my page to be able to use screen readers as they will read aloud the links for them. I have added hyperlinks to several images and other content to make it easier to access them.
Color Contrast: Throughout my e-portfolio there is a contrast between text and background while also keeping it visually pleasing. I did not bold any font and I avoided using colored font aside from hyperlinks. I have used minimal backgrounds and patterns throughout my e-portfolio as that can take away from the visual experience for those with low vision.
Bulleted Numbers and Lists: I used bullets and and lists throughout my e-portfolio. I have used them when talking about my list of relevant courses in the field, and I also used bulleted lists when creating some of my UDL assignments. Bulleted lists are a great way to quickly list chunked information quickly and efficiently.
