About Me

The Brito Piano Studio Experience

With over 20 years of experience as a university instructor, private teacher, and active freelance performer, I established Brito Piano Studio to provide well-rounded piano instruction right here in Durham, at my home studio.

At Brito Piano Studio, music is more than just a skill—it's a lifelong journey of expression. As a professional educator, classical and jazz musician, and longtime Durham resident, I bring over twenty years of teaching and performance experience to the bench.

My background combines a Master of Arts in Piano Performance from the Belarusian State Academy of Music and a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance from Elon University, with decades of local teaching experience. While teaching piano and keyboard proficiency to college students in university settings, I have also been teaching private piano lessons in the Durham area since 2008.    Additionally, I have served on the music faculty at Elon University since 2006 and spent many years judging piano competitions across North Carolina. Deeply embedded in our local arts community, I also serve as the staff accompanist for the Durham Community Chorale and the North Carolina Boys Choir.

I believe that a great music education should be as versatile and unique as the student. Grounded in strong technical foundations and enriched by a love for everything from classical masterpieces to vibrant jazz improvisation, my lessons are tailored to build solid piano fundamentals and inspire a love of music. Whether your child is taking their very first steps at the keys or preparing for high-level auditions, I provide a warm, encouraging, and world-class environment to help them thrive.  Likewise, adults who are interested in learning piano as a new habit or expanding their existing piano skill set are warmly welcome in my studio.
