About BCFT

BCFT can trace its roots all the way back to 1899, when the Green Fishing Line was formed. It traded fish in Aberdeen, Scotland where we are still based today. In 2012, The Green Fishing Line was sold to the European Line and renamed Green International. It changed from trading fish to a passenger and freight service.

In 2014, FredServices joined with the European Line in a multi-million pound deal to manage Green International, with 50.1% of the shares in the company. In 2016, FredServices' stake in Green International was rising, until July, when it bought over the European Line's share in Green International to create a new company, FredFerries.

In May 2018, talks commenced between FredFerries and Harry Travel over a potential merger of the two companies. In late July, AbbyMobiles joined the talks to build and renovate BCFT's stock. All BCFT ships will go under renovations to bring them into our fleet, starting with the Horland and Horstar in October 2019. Two new ships have been ordered, the Ristar and her sister Ristland. Both are to be launched in early 2020.

More information on the renovation of our ships can be found here.
