Hotels

There are a large number of hotels within a reasonable distance of the University campus. Rates of about €100/night are available, although costs can be significantly higher at weekends. Below is a list of some convenient options.

Clayton Hotel Burlington Road

The Clayton Hotel Burlington Road is conveniently located. Being near the 46a and 145 bus routes connecting UCD with Dublin City Centre, it provides a good balance of proximity between both the conference venue and the city. The bus takes less than 10 minutes to get to either UCD or to the city centre. The hotel is also within walking distance of Ranelagh and Donnybrook, both of which have a large number of restaurants and bars to choose from.

Mespil Hotel

The Mespil Hotel is located nearby the Clayton Burlington hotel and is equally well located.

Radisson St. Helen's Hotel

For those with more substantial travel budgets, the Radisson St. Helen's hotel is a top quality 5 star hotel about 10 minutes walk from UCD. It is serviced by the 46a and 145 bus routes.

Talbot Hotel Stillorgan

Further out of town is the Talbot Hotel Stillorgan. Guests receive complimentary WiFi access throughout the hotel, use of a fitness room and use of a courtesy shuttle bus to and from UCD, subject to availability & advance booking.

Hampton Hotel

A boutique hotel located in Donnybrook, the Hampton Hotel is conveniently located roughly half way between UCD and Dublin City Centre. The 46a and 145 bus routes connect the hotel with both UCD and Dublin City Centre. The bus takes less than 10 minutes to get to either UCD or to the city centre. The hotel is also within walking distance of Ranelagh and Donnybrook, both of which have a large number of restaurants and bars to choose from.

Guest Houses

Guest houses are a cheaper option than a hotel. Typical rates are around €60 per night. Below are some of the guest houses within walking distance or a short bus ride from UCD.

Hostels

For the budget-minded traveller, there are a number of hostels in and around the Camden Street and Temple Bar districts of Dublin City Centre. The cost can be as little as €15 per night in a shared dorm, but beware that Dublin has a very active nightlife so hostels can often be noisy.
