"Rock with some punk, quite strong and striking."

BRISTLE is a power pop punk rock trio colored with alternative grungy styles. Sticks is the original creator of the band, and he recruited Guitarist Don King in 2018 to join who has achieved regional acclaim for his work with Champaign, IL stalwarts 'Terminus Victor'. They invited Drummer Dan Powell to join from the Champaign area who also plays for an Americana band 'Painted Canyon'. Bristle songs are a combination of Sticks' library of prolific, talented writing and more songs written through the collaboration of this trio. Each song tells a compelling story with dynamic energy, intensity and sensitivity that connects with the souls of the young at heart. Together the energy, passion and experience of this trio has created a chemistry that brings Bristle music to full life.

BRISTLE's 7 song EP is your "invitation" to listen and enjoy their sweetly edgy rock music. Slip on a pair of 'Magic Shoes' with a song that embodies the feeling that we can fly! Hear the gauntlet clash of rhetorical frustration with injustice, greed, corruption, coercion and division that exists in 'My Nation'. Feel the hope that someone will 'Write Me' a love letter, and share the notion that anyone can be lucky to find a wonderful relationship with someone like 'Sally Joe'. Bristle music gives energy to primal human desires, fears, and hopes with passion, empathy and rejuvenating life like the band feels and delivers during live performances.

Bassist Sticks had been a fixture on the Boston rock scene of the 80’s playing bass, writing music and touring with likes of Lou Miami And The Kozmetics. He shared the stage with Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Gang Green, Lemonheads and Bullet LaVolta. He played in a short lived popular Boston band called King Moon Razer that broke up abruptly. So he packed his car and drove to the West coast for a new start. During his West coast career in the late 80’s through the 90's he shared the stage with the likes of Frank Black (Pixies member turned solo), Martinis (other former Pixies members), Green Day, The Cramps, the Circle Jerks, and he was room mates with the founder of Seattle's Presidents Of The United States Of America. Sticks also toured Japan with legendary Hollywood trash punk act The White Trash Debutantes. Considering the timeframe of Sticks legendary career and the influence of 90's DIY and alternative grunge music on Dan and Don's early music development. It makes sense how these three combine to create the energy, feel and sound of BRISTLE.
