The following is to clarify scheduling guidelines for computer lab use on campus. These guidelines are implemented with equity and fair use as the foremost consideration.
Computer Lab requests must be scheduled by emailing, calling, or visiting:
Sean Cantwell – Mega Lab – x46062
Stephanie Scott – Giga Lab – x61146
Elizabeth Mysona – 7000 Lab – x46299
Mr. Tim Brink – Library Lab – x46098
If you know the lab you wish to schedule, please contact the appropriate representative. However, in the event that they are not available, any computer lab assistant can take your information to schedule a lab. The request will be forwarded to the appropriate representative, who will email you with confirmation of your requested lab times.
Scheduling requests will be granted on a first come-first serve basis.
Please be advised that exceptions can be made, but communication of needs and necessity of exception is expected.
· A teacher can book from 1 to 8 periods per day.
· A teacher can book up to 3 days in a week. (Testing circumstances excepted.)
A teacher can book no more than two weeks consecutively.
· A teacher may only book one month in advance. (The English priority lab in the 7000 lab excepted.)
Further important considerations:
· Teachers cannot bring their classes to the computer labs for instruction that does not involve use of the computers. There are other teachers who need the computers.
· If your activity requires updates or downloads the teacher must submit a HelpDesk request at least 3 days in advance of their scheduled day in the lab.
· Substitute Teachers are not allowed to conduct classes in the Library or Computer Labs. Any class in the computer labs without the teacher will be sent back to the classroom.
· It is the teacher’s responsibility to provide passwords to their students who do not know their passwords. Teachers can access student passwords in Synergy.
· If a student does not have access with his/her password, do not send the student to the Registration Desk, contact any computer lab assistant. The CLA will contact Mike Espinoza to attempt to rectify the situation.
· If a student does not have authorization to use the computer, it is the responsibility of the teacher to provide an alternate activity for that student.
· Teachers are required to stay with their class for the duration of the time they are in the computer lab.
· Food and drink are not allowed in the labs.
· Students are expected to tidy stations and remove any materials at the end of the class.
