Dear Voters:
It is with great enthusiasm that I endorse Melody Brinkley for District 279 School Board. During my 16 years of teaching at Maranatha Christian Academy, I witnessed Melody passionately pursue a career as an English teacher and eventually take on the impactful role of Dean of Students. With her extensive background in the education field, I believe Melody is equipped to be a voice not only for the students, but teachers and administration as well, because she understands school culture and how the education system operates.
Melody Brinkley is an educator to her core. She has the rare ability to develop empathetic and interpersonal relationships with those she leads, while also earning their utmost respect and maintaining authority. Through this, she possesses both the capacity to listen and the skills to act and enforce. It is because of this that I know Melody will make a great member of the school board.
Because of her past career as a teacher and Dean of Students, she knows the ins and outs of the education system and the many challenges that teachers face. She knows what it takes to meet necessary standards, what it takes to earn the trust of parents and students, and what it takes to make hard decisions. She will be a voice of accountability. With Melody on the board, I believe the Osseo/Maple Grove School District will benefit from students receiving the proper tools to improve test scores, manifest critical thinking, and above all, ensure their safety through the implementation of well-developed policies and procedures.
Respectfully,
Nancy Stein Retired Teacher, Plymouth Resident
