Happy St. Patrick's Day!
The eight weeks or so since our training workshop have been full. Of the 50 or so people who came to the workshop to check out the ministry, about half have followed up, and of those, about half have begun their training.
As you can see, one has to cast a wide net to land a handful of volunteers, so please keep up your efforts to let people know about this important and beautiful work for our Lord.
When I heard this final prayer at Mass last week, I was struck by its appropriateness for Eucharistic mission:
Prayer over the People
Look graciously, O Lord, upon the faithful who implore your mercy, that, trusting in your kindness, they may spread far and wide the gifts your charity has bestowed.

Ash Wednesday Re-Cap
Our team members really showed up for Ash Wednesday, and we were able to add extra visits in for 2/3 of our facilities.
So many of us have had the experience of being in the right place at the right time, led by the Spirit to meet others looking for a sign that God is watching out for them. Ash Wednesday was no exception! Here is a testimony from Jeanne White, Atria Park Team Captain:
On Ash Wednesday, I was collecting my ashes in the morning on my way to bring Communion to someone from St Thomas, which I do each Wednesday. While I was there, she texted and asked if I could come a half hour later than usual. So I stayed in the church and prayed for that time, happy to have the bonus time before Our Lord. While I was there two young men, students at U of M, came in and breathlessly asked where I got the ashes on my forehead, and if there was a way for them to get them because they wouldn’t be able to go to any of the Masses or services due to their class schedules.
My heart was so joyful because I knew that God had arranged for me to be there and make it possible for them to receive ashes through me. They were so grateful and also felt it was God’s hand.
I love bringing Jesus to those who ask, and this also gave me that feeling of Our Lord using me as he wants for others I don't even know about. I was so happy to help these young men start their Lent off in the right way.
Music Makes a Difference
Did you know that during December, we had five different groups of carolers come out to add Christmas music to our services?
Hymns and inspired songs touch the soul in a way that seems to happen even when memory and intellect are impaired. Consider adding music to your ministry, even if you don't feel that you're a great singer! Some of our ministers bring along small portable bluetooth speakers and play hymns from their phones; others draft friends and family members with musical talent to contribute.
Large-print hymn sheets can help participants; if you would like help finding or making copies, just let Michelle know.
