For diploma and undergraduate students:
Merdeka Belajar - Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program, launched by the Ministry of Education and Culture, is designed to empower students with a broad range of skills to prepare them for the workforce. Through this initiative, the MBKM program equips students, particularly in the fields of research and innovation, by providing mentoring opportunities at BRIN, fostering the development of exceptional human resources to strengthen Indonesia’s research and innovation ecosystem. This program is open to undergraduate students who have completed at least five semesters and spans 6 months (or one academic semester), with participants earning the equivalent of 25 credits. Research Project for Undergraduates is tailored for undergraduate students aiming to complete their bachelor’s thesis (skripsi) through research conducted at BRIN. This program lasts a minimum of 6 months (one academic semester) and can be extended. Upon completion, participants are expected to publish their high-quality research findings in a scientific journal and/or contribute to a patent as a co-author. Additionally, selected participants may be eligible for scholarship opportunities to pursue a master’s degree. Apply to this program by filling out the online form here. For master's and doctoral students:
Research Project for Postgraduates and Doctor Candidates is tailored for master's and doctoral students aiming to complete their thesis and dissertation through research conducted at BRIN. This program lasts for two years and can be extended. Upon completion, participants are expected to publish their high-quality research findings in an international scientific journal and/or contribute to a patent as an author. Additionally, selected participants may be eligible for scholarship opportunities to pursue a doctoral degree or fellowship as a postdoctoral researcher. Degree by Research Scholarship is provided by LPDP for prospective and current master’s and doctoral students, offering them the opportunity to pursue studies at selected Indonesian universities, with certain options available for international study, while conducting research at BRIN. This program provides comprehensive benefits, including full tuition coverage for up to two years for master’s students and three years for doctoral students, along with co-supervision by BRIN researchers. Participants can also apply for a research assistant role to earn a monthly stipend. Upon completing the program, participants are expected to publish their high-quality research in international scientific journals and/or contribute to patents as authors. Select participants may also qualify for further scholarship opportunities to pursue doctoral studies or postdoctoral fellowships. Apply this program here.
