As an immigrant, multicultural family with Chinese heritage, we started Bright Beginnings Chinese to share our love of language and culture with the next generation. Our school draws inspiration from both Montessori and Waldorf philosophies while keeping things simple, accessible, and child-centered.
At Bright Beginnings, children learn Mandarin naturally — through daily routines, songs, stories, crafts, and play — in a positive, nurturing, and intimate classroom. With small class sizes, each child feels seen, supported, and confident as they grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
We believe early education doesn’t need to be complicated to be powerful. When children are cared for in a safe, joyful space by dedicated teachers, they flourish — building both a strong foundation for Kindergarten and a lasting connection to culture.
We welcome children from all backgrounds, whether or not they have prior Mandarin exposure. We will teach you! Nǐ hǎo ma (你好嗎)?
We value the quality of our teachers and believe having the right teacher at the school can create a big impact. Our school is led by teachers who have strong credentials in early childhood experience.
Our teachers have at least 5+ years of relevant teaching experience teaching preschool children.
Taken at least 12 core semester units of early childhood courses

WE LOVE OUR TEACHERS!
Our director and lead teacher, Gennie Laoshi, is the heart of our school. A native Mandarin speaker from China, she brings 15+ years of experience teaching and caring for children both in China and the U.S. She brings a wealth of experience to the preschool and understands the challenges children has entering a Mandarin Immersion education.
Gennie Laoshi believes in creating a school rooted in safety, warmth, and a true love of learning. Her curriculum blends storytelling, crafts, movement, and hands-on exploration — making Mandarin and early academics come alive in ways that feel natural and joyful for young children.
Her vision is simple: every child should feel supported, engaged, and excited to learn — in both language and life.
There are three large classrooms, each thoughtfully designed for a distinct purpose.
Classroom - Classroom setting and academic learning takes place here including reading, writing, math, and art. Snack time and lunches are also eaten in the classroom.
Napping Room - We have kept the darkest room as the quiet room and napping room. Children will rest their eyes in this room during nap time.
Play Room - We perform our circle time, story time, dramatic play, and manipulatives in this room. This room helps children explore their creativity and imagination.
