How To Use

START DISPLAY: Launches the current configuration into the high-brightness, full-screen sign mode.
PREVIEW BOX: Displays your final output. Tap the box to Quick-Swap between the background and text views when using a static sign.
SLIDESHOW READY: Tap this shortcut to instantly activate Custom Text Slideshow mode (requires both a background and custom text).
BRIGHT-DASH SIGNS: Access a dedicated gallery to load or manage images saved specifically for the app.
PHOTO GALLERY: Select a new image from your device's main gallery to use as a sign background.
CUSTOM TEXT SIGN: Creates a personalized text sign.
MOOD LIGHT: Selects a single high-contrast color for use as a background light.

CREATE WITH AI: Generates a professional prompt based on your text description and copies it to your clipboard. Use this prompt in the linked AI image tools to create a sign graphic.
LOAD/SAVE QUICK SIGNS: Save or load up to five custom sign configurations for fast, one-tap access.
CUSTOM TEXT SLIDESHOW: Activates a timed flip between a background (Image or Mood Light) and your custom text sign.
SLIDESHOW SPEED: Adjust the flip interval to 3s (Fast), 5s (Medium), or 7s (Slow) using the dedicated speed control menu.
KEEP SCREEN ON: Toggle this switch to prevent the phone screen from sleeping while a sign is active (battery warning applies).

At Work

For ride share and delivery drivers, the best way to get started is by making your own logo signs. First, search for the company logo you want and either take a screenshot or download the image file. Next, open the file in your Gallery (or photos app). You may need to adjust the image to prevent it from getting cut off when your phone is flipped to landscape mode. The easiest way is to tap the pen 🖊️ icon and drag the cropping tool until it reads 16:9 (the common phone aspect ratio). Save the cropped image.

Now, open Bright-Dash and tap "Get Started," then "Bright-Dash Signs." Select the Add Photo icon in the lower right corner and choose your cropped image. Done! The logo is now saved in your quick-use folder.

💡Tip: Use the Custom Text Sign and turn on the Custom Text Slideshow to make a personal sign for your rider.

Mood Light

Use the Mood Light feature to add a personal touch or ambient color to your environment, camping setup, or whenever you feel like adding some light.

I personally use the Mood Light when I get up at night. It provides just enough light so I don't have to turn on a bright room light, and it definitely helps me avoid stepping on the cat!🙀

Custom Text Sign

Use the Custom Text Sign to create any message you need. This feature is fully customizable, allowing you to choose your text color and background color for a unique, personal sign. You can even use Emojis😁with this feature, for added fun and expression!

Create With AI

Unleash your creativity with the Create with AI feature to make truly personal, custom signs. The sky is the limit!

Tip for Perfect Signs: Most AI-powered image generators naturally produce square pictures, which will require cropping to fit your phone's screen when flipped sideways (landscape mode).

Developer Note: I've added a piece of hidden text into the AI prompt that requests the correct aspect ratio (16:9), but this doesn't always work perfectly. If your generated image is square, you may still need to use your phone's gallery editor to crop it before adding it to Bright-Dash. (See the Custom Logo Sign instructions for how to crop to 16:9.)

Custom Text Slideshow

Use the Custom Text Slideshow feature to create a personalized message that is displayed as a repeating loop with one of your custom signs.

The app will display one sign, and then automatically switch to the other, making your message highly visible. You can adjust the slideshow speed.

Load/Save Quick Signs

You can save up to five custom signs and slideshows (including any saved Mood Light settings) in the Load/Save Quick Signs area. Keep your absolute favorites here for instant access!

💡Quick-Switch Tip for Drivers: This feature is incredibly useful if you are working on multiple platforms at once (multi-apping). You can switch your sign from Uber to Lyft to DoorDash with just a quick couple of taps!

💡Optimizing Your Display

Two of Bright-Dash's key features are optimizing your screen's visibility and making sure it stays on while you need it.

Brightness Control:
- Use the Brightness Slider control to adjust the screen intensity.
- Note: Brightness is set to 100% by default for maximum visibility.
Keep Screen On:
- The Keep Screen On switch is enabled by default. When active, it prevents your device from going to sleep while a sign is displayed.

🔋 Important Battery Alert

Since Bright-Dash is designed to maximize your screen brightness and keep the display active, these features can cause your battery to drain fast.

Safety Feature: The Keep Screen On feature will automatically disable itself when your battery level drops to 15%. This is to ensure you have enough power left for other essential phone functions.
