Sukothai and Ayutthaya

After the Om Koi expedition, I went overnight to Sukothai, on of the most Interesting temple complexes. I had a lovely little cabin to myself, ate dinner at a charming restaurant, and toured the expansive grounds. I was fascinated by the tiny statues at the feet of the elephants around the chedis.  It was explained to me that they were cremated remains of the devoted.

I didn't get here until 2018 when I went on the Southeast Asia cruise. Impressive, but I didn't walk up to It.
