I've travelled a fair amount, and so has Joan, a longtime friend, but we'd never travelled together before. But in February, I was bored with cold weather and e-mailed Joan, "what about April in Paris?" And she enthusiastically said YES! So we started planning and six weeks later we were in Giverny, in Normandy, on the fifth of April, to visit Monet's gardens. We picked up our little Fiat on arrival at the CDG airport. There was definitely still a chill in the air.
What you'll encounter here are brief summaries of our travels, selections of our favorite pictures. We made our hotel reservations in advance, because we'd be travelling over the Easter Holiday period, very popular for Europeans' travel. Probably we could have found lodgings without reservations at other times, but the places we visited were fully booked, and we were glad for the security of reservations.
