Most schools use Blackboard as means for the professors to communicate information to their students. Professors will post announcements on Blackboard and it's your responsibility to constantly check the site. They will also post homework assignments there as well. Most of the thing you will need for a class will be on Blackboard. Some classes will use additional sites to supplement their workload, so be aware of that. You might also use Blackboard to take tests. Most professors use Blackboard as a means for students to submit their work and view their grades. Become familiar with it!!
Degree Works is a site that allows students to view up-to-date information about a student’s progress towards graduation. The student can see which major, minor, specialization, and general education requirements have to be fulfilled and which ones have already been completed. You will also be able to see AP and transfer credits. Degree Works is the site you use to see how many credits you have and for which classes and categories.
Your school probably has helpful apps that you can download on your phone to help you navigate during college. For example, some apps for for events happening around campus while others are to track when a bus is going to arrive at a certain station. Research what apps your school has and download them and if you think they would be helpful.
