Mastering Brightspace
Most schools use Brightspace as the primary hub for professors to communicate with their students. Because it is central to your academic success, it is your responsibility to check the site constantly.
Here is what you will typically use Brightspace for:
Announcements: Professors will post important updates, reminders, and deadline changes directly to the course homepages.
Course Materials & Homework: Most of what you need for class—including your syllabus, weekly readings, and assignment instructions—will be housed in the Content section.
Quizzes & Tests: You will frequently use the Quizzes tool to take exams and knowledge checks online.
Submissions & Grades: Brightspace is the main portal where you will submit your digital coursework and track your academic progress through the Grades tab.
Degree Works
Degree Works
Degree Works is a site that allows students to view up-to-date information about a student’s progress towards graduation. The student can see which major, minor, specialization, and general education requirements have to be fulfilled and which ones have already been completed. You will also be able to see AP and transfer credits. Degree Works is the site you use to see how many credits you have and for which classes and categories.

CUNY FIRST
"CUNYfirst (which stands for Fully Integrated Resources and Services Tool) is an online system used by all CUNY campuses to manage administrative processes in Student Administration, Human Resources and Finance."
Any CUNY student will be using this website to register for classes (SCHEDULE BUILDER), see your final grades, Financial Aid/ Finance. It is going to be your best friend for the next 4 years of college.
Helpful Apps + Tips
Helpful Apps + Tips
Your school probably has helpful apps that you can download on your phone to help you navigate during college. For example, some apps for for events happening around campus while others are to track when a bus is going to arrive at a certain station. Research what apps your school has and download them and if you think they would be helpful.
