Most schools use Brightspace as means for the professors to communicate information to their students. Professors will post announcements on Brightspace and it's your responsibility to constantly check the site. They will also post homework assignments, quizzes, grades, and other important course content. Some classes will use additional sites to supplement their workload, so be aware of your professors' announcements. Familiarize yourself with the site to help yourself stay organized and updated.
Degree Works is a site that allows students to view up-to-date information about a student’s progress towards graduation. The student can see which major, minor, specialization, and general education requirements have to be fulfilled and which ones have already been completed. You will also be able to see AP and transfer credits. Degree Works is the site you use to see how many credits you have and for which classes and categories.
The CUNY Transfer Explorer site is used for students who are trying to transfer to another school and can view what courses are equivalent to fulfilling other courses in terms of credits. High school students are able to use this site to see what credits they have received from College Now are eligible to be used in their academic careers when attending other CUNYs.
Schedule Builder is a site used for creating a students schedule of the upcoming semesters. The student can search up courses related to their major, minor, or electives, to view what is available in the upcoming semester. Students are able to view which professors/instructors are teaching which course, what required class is necessary for eligibility in enrolling for a course, the date and time a course is offered, and more! Some course information are subject to change depending on the timing of when course information is viewed in Schedule Builder.
Your school probably has helpful apps that you can download on your phone to help you navigate during college. For example, some apps for for events happening around campus while others are to track when a bus is going to arrive at a certain station. Research what apps your school has and download them and if you think they would be helpful.
