Accelerated Study in Associates Program is a fast track program - you take 15 credits per semester, you get your degree in 2 years. ASAP features include individualized course schedules, required full-time study, and comprehensive and personalized academic and career advisement. Financial incentives include tuition and fee gap scholarships for financial aid-eligible students who have a gap between their financial aid award and tuition, assistance to reduce (or eliminate) the cost of textbooks, and unlimited MetroCards for all ASAP students. Some colleges don't offer ASAP, but offer ACE, which is similar to ASAP.
CUNY Language Immersion Program helps students who need to improve their academic English skills before taking college courses. CLIP students pause their CUNY acceptance until they finish the program. Once they finish it, they will be able to resume their college courses. Courses are offered in-person, online, or hybrid. There are different options you can choose from: 6, 12, or 16 weeks. It's a commitment of 25 hours/week.
Math Start prepares increases students' understanding of math and prepares them for college-level coursework. If you have math remedial needs, then Math Start might be of interest to you. You can enroll in a semester long or an intensive summer program. Shorter cycles cost $35 while the semester-long programs cost $75. This program provides a next-step pathway to ASAP.
College Discovery offers need-based financial aid, tutoring services, skill building and career development workshops, and academic counseling. This program helps support students who otherwise might not be able to attend college due to educational and financial circumstances. Seek is a similar program to College Discovery and offers similar benefits.
HEOP seeks to improve graduation rates for disadvantaged students by offering academic, financial, and career counseling alongside tutoring and other support services. HEOP is very similar to EOP in its objective and services- however, the former is available to private college bound students while the later is open to students attending state-public colleges.
College Discovery offers academic support throughout a student's journey to obtain their bachelor's degree through services such as academic advisement, career development, tuition scholarships, textbooks/ transportation assistance. This program is modeled after ASAP.
CSEP's objective is to increase the number of under represented populations within STEM related career fields. It offers academic support, career development events, and research opportunities. Must be a NYS resident and part of a minority population or be economically disadvantaged.
FYCSI is geared towards helping students who have been in foster care achieve success in college by providing monetary assistance for college tuition, on-campus housing and meals.
