WHAT IS A BRIDGE COACH?
College & Career Bridge for All (CCB4A) is a program that works with DOE and CUNY to increase postsecondary enrollment by hiring and training college students to provide meaningful advising to graduating seniors through the postsecondary planning, financial aid, and matriculation processes. In 2020, we scaled our program to ensure that all students in the NYCDOE graduating class have access to a near-peer Bridge Coach to support them on their postsecondary journey. As a city-wide program, we serve more than 50,000 students annually as they graduate from the NYCDOE. So, a Bridge Coach is a trained college student who helps students with the matriculation process.

Students who engaged with their coach enrolled in Fall 2022 at a rate 9% higher than students who did not; in our Spring 2021 Winter Bridge program, it was 18% higher

About Me
I am an undergraduate student majoring in Forensic Science at The John Jay College of Criminal Justice and I like to do laboratory work.
I am a first-generation Afro-Latina and first in my family to pursue a STEM degree and I was born and raised from the Bronx New York
I started doing undergraduate research in my sophomore year at John Jay. I have always been interested in doing laboratory work so I decided to pursue a doctoral degree by starting my research journey at my institution. In addition to joining 2 different forensic science labs focusing on DNA and organic chemistry.
Due to being a first generation college student i struggled to have a smooth transition from high school to college. What helped me overcome this new journey was building and finding my own community through club and organization efforts. As well as, seeking help when I was in need too the point that now I utilize my four years of being a mentor and tutor for students and created my own non-profit organization "The First Gen Project" centered around increasing the percentage of first generation students who puruse higher education.
