Hi! I’m William “Brian” Shehorn, a graduate student at Auburn University pursuing an M.S. in Geography and Environmental Studies. My research focuses on riparian geomorphology, with particular interest in riverscour grasslands, which are unique riparian grassland ecosystems shaped by fluvial processes. Under the guidance of Dr. Steph Shepherd, I study the geomorphic characteristics and dynamics of these systems.

I have always had an interest in the environment and outside world. My favorite channels as a kid were the Discovery Channel and Animal Planet (shoutout Steve Irwin). All of my most memorable vacations were in National Parks, hiking around with my family. In 2021, I decided to use this curiosity in my career, and earned my Bachelor's of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Southern Indiana in 2024. From there, I worked as an environmental consultant for a year before deciding to return to school to continue my education. 

Outside of my research, I enjoy playing music, hanging out with friends and family, getting too invested in the success of my favorite sports teams, playing video games, and spending time with my dog.
