Hi! My name is Brianne. Here's a little bit about me. I was born and raised in Nevada and moved to Utah as a teenager. These states are wonderful places to live if you love playing in nature. It's definitely one of my favorite things to do. I enjoy activities such as hiking, camping and exploring our many state and national parks. I also love doing art and being creative. I like to paint, draw, craft and produce. I have always enjoyed playing music. As a child I learned to play the piano and continue playing it still. In the last few years, I learned how to play the drums. I absolutely love it! I have also created, managed and produced several children's operas. As a teen, I discovered my joy for helping others learn. I taught younger children how to read and do math. As an adult, I continued helping others learn by teaching and tutoring preschool, elementary and middle school aged children. My teaching experience essentially taught me how to be an expert at learning. This is one reason I excel at designing and developing exceptional training that is engaging and aligned with business goals!
Over the last year, I have attended Learning Strategy and Designs Applied Instructional Design Academy. I have acquired the following knowledge and abilities: adult learning theories, ADDIE, SAM, AGILE, needs analysis, creating design documents and storyboards, developing courses in Articulate Rise/Storyline and SCORM publishing. I have earned my Instructional Design credential through Applied Instructional Design Academy. To earn this credential, I created design documents and a storyboard for two courses, as well as developed the courses using Articulate Rise and Storyline.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies, as well as a Master's degree in Elementary Education. These degrees help me to understand people and how they learn best. I design and develop learning that works because I understand learner needs. Learners need to know the course objectives from the start. They don't need boring training where too much content is dumped on them; it needs to be just enough to meet the objectives. Learners need interactions or they will drift off and not really learn anything. Learners need scenarios to practice behavior changes.
I spent many years working as a teacher and tutor. With those roles, I obtained valuable skills that I now apply to Instructional Design work. I collaborate well with SME's and stakeholders. I am able to conduct thorough needs analysis. I am adept at writing excellent course objectives that align with the business goals. My experience organizing content is extremely valuable when creating design documents and storyboards. These careers taught me to design learning that excites the learner, is interactive and gives them lots of practice.
Check out my knowledge and skills!
