Biography:
I was born and raised in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (the “Yoop”) in the small town of Gwinn—Go Modeltowners!—just outside of Marquette. I joined the Air Force immediately after high school, and it remains one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I spent my career in the Materiel Management field (2S0X1), which gave me opportunities to work around the world and across nearly every aspect of logistics. From warehouse operations to writing U.S. Air Force policy, I’ve had the chance to experience logistics at every level—and along the way, I developed a true passion for the field.
My wife, Robin, and I have been married for 24 years. She’s originally from Lewiston, Maine, and together we have three amazing children: Brianna (23), a Social Work student at American Public University; Benjamin (20), who is preparing to join the U.S. Space Force; and Samuel (15), a sophomore at South Carroll High School.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors. My interests include exercising, hiking trails with Sammy, boating, camping, fishing, hunting, softball, golf (I prefer not to discuss my handicap), cheering on the Orioles, and spending time in nature—or relaxing on a beach somewhere.
Reflecting on my military career, I often think of Steve Jobs’ words: “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward.” Throughout my journey, I’ve embraced challenges rather than avoided them. Through adversity and experience, I uncovered strengths and problem-solving abilities that I didn’t know existed. Those lessons have not only made me a stronger leader and mentor, but also a better husband, father, and person.
