I am an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Texas at San Antonio.  Previously, I was at the University at Buffalo (State University of New York) from 2014-2020.  I graduated from Indiana University with a Ph.D. in finance in 2014.  My research interests are in financial intermediation (banking, and FinTech) and empirical corporate finance.

Prior to earning my Ph.D., I worked for 8 years in the petrochemical industry in R&D and marketing for Equistar Chemicals LLC (now LyondellBasell). I hold a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Cincinnati and an M.B.A. from Xavier University. My wife and I used to run a small business selling superhero capes online called Pip and Bean from 2009-2017.
