The BCDECF mission is to elect Democratic lawmakers who will govern in a way that addresses the environmental and climate crisis we are facing. The BCDECF will also support passage of local and state initiatives that support and fund environmental efforts.

BREVARD CHAPTER CAUCUS 2026 GOALS STATEMENT
Goal 1: Establish and grow the BCDECF membership
Process to Achieve Goal 1:
Publicize the establishment of a Brevard chapter of the DECF to Brevard Democrats via steering committee and monthly DEC meetings in 2026
Establish a page on the DECF website for Brevard County in 2026
Create inputs to BDEC newsletter on county environmental issues and actions in 2026
Publicize and conduct monthly BCDECF meetings
Goal 2: Support Democratic candidates who support our values
Process to Achieve Goal 2:
Tailor state level messaging to Brevard specific issues and provide to candidates
Vet incumbents and candidates’ environmental policies and endorse those who support our values
Participate in Brevard County persuasion and GOTV activities such as canvassing, phone banking, text banking and tabling at local events
Goal 3: Improve the Democratic brand in Brevard County working within the Democratic party, supporting like-minded organizations and engaging with voters.
Process to Achieve Goal 3:
Provide regular input to the Brevard Dems via steering committee and monthly DEC and District meetings on key issues and actions
Be a visible presence at meetings and events held by governmental and NGO and provide input to policy and decisions (SOIRL COC, MRC, County Comm, etc.)
Build alliances with like minded organizations
Volunteer at environmental events at least quarterly
Goal 4: Support the passage of the renewal of the SOIRL 1⁄2 cent sales tax in 2026 and the EELs program
Process to Achieve Goal 4:
Attend workshops and meetings where the SOIRL renewal is discussed and decided on
Provide input to the County Commission and SOE on ballot language and program improvements to ensure a science-based program and continued public support
Seek the endorsement of the SOIRL and EELs renewal from the Brevard Dems, local candidates and NGO’s
Participate in Brevard County persuasion and GOTV activities such as canvassing, phone banking, text banking and tabling at local events

The Brevard Democratic Environmental Caucus holds meetings on the second Thursday of each month at 7 PM in the Brevard Dems HQ. All Democrats and NPV are welcome to attend.
