This page contains some information on just one particular branch of the Brettle family (my own); but it is only partial, just containing some of the history of this line and it has less information on my maternal family or the many ancestors who do not have the Brettle surname. This page also contains Brettell names as the name seems to have been used interchangeably down the generations: see the page on Brettle Name Origin.
I have followed the convention of limiting the period covered to omit data from less than 100 years ago unless the individual is known to be deceased. I do this to avoid giving information on living descendants who may not wish to have personal information published.
The descendent chart starts with John Brettell - 1043: the reference numbers following a name are given to match chart entries with later pages of particularly significant family members labelled in red. I am less certain about the correctness of information on ancestors earlier than Benjamin Brettell - 383 as going further back one reaches a stage where the easily available records become more sparse and less clear.
The abbreviations used are B: for birth date, D: for date of death and sp: for spouse. You can navigate through the chart using the vertical scroll bar on the right of the chart.
