March 2026
All tracks in = A school full of fun!
Schools and PTAs with year-round calendars have big bursts of activity several times a year when all tracks are in. One of these blocks is late February - early March! The school is bursting with fun events and positive energy.
We hope you have enjoyed the Brassfield ES Book Fair, brought to you by the PTA. Proceeds from the fair are used to purchase books for students, classroom libraries and update our media center. The first week of March we have our final days of the fair, including our Family Shopping Night: Monday, March 2, 4:30-5:30pm.
A huge thank you to all of the families that participated in the second annual Multicultural Fair! This year the fair was even bigger, with the addition of Brassfield staff selecting countries to represent in a fun, educational door decorating contest. Congrats to Mrs. Betheil, DeFranco and Wahl for their creative and inclusive design for "Italy". See pictures below.
The student's multicultural boards will be on display in the cafeteria, Monday, March 2, from 4:30-5:30pm. Shop the fair then travel over to the cafeteria to see our students' amazing creativity.
We look forward to celebrating our Specials Teacher in early March and cheering on our First in Fitness participants March 10.
Thank you for everything you do to support our Brassfield community. Continue reading for a spotlight on one of our long-term community partners, Raleigh Divorce Law Firm.

BEAR NECESSITIES
Thank you so much for your donations...currently chewy granonla bars and water are running low at the front desk.
See our Amazon Wishlist to have your donated items are shipped directly to the front office.
NC is now the only state without an approved budget. This is negatively impacting our schools, staff and families.
Join Public Schools First NC and the NCPTA on the following Wednesdays from 11am to 1pm: Feb. 11, Mar. 11 & April 8. We will gather in front of the NCGA to advocate for NC public schools! Bring your favorite sign supporting our public schools, educators and students! RSVP here
Here is the link to the Public Schools First letter template to email the North Carolina General Assembly (NCGA) budget committee. You can send the letter as is or personalize it using points that are meaningful to you and hit send. It will be distributed to the Conferees for SB 257 – the committee that is negotiating the final budget.
Here is the link to the Public Schools First letter template to advocate for reform of the school voucher program - a program that allows our tax dollars to fund private school education to those who do not have financial hardship and to schools that are not accountable to the public and not required to follow the same safety, academic, and non-discrimination guidelines as public schools.
The Brassy Bear Community Fund brings our Brassfield community together to support families experiencing temporary hardships.
In collaboration with school administration, our social worker, counselors and the PTA Board, donated funds are directed with care and discretion to provide essential assistance - because Brassy Bears take care of one another.
