Toby Bresnahan

About:

Toby Bresnahan, born in Chicago and raised in Elmhurst, Illinois, is a passionate and ambitious filmmaker and director. They began creating videos in elementary school, quickly becoming enthralled with crafting playful narratives, directing actors, and bringing people together through film.

Carrying these passions through high school, Toby submitted projects to festivals and curated dozens of videos for the school’s announcements, continuing into college, where they contributed to numerous student and non-student films, as well as music videos. Always eager to take on daring projects, like producing their own dating show or putting together a stop-motion short, they embrace the belief that creativity and determination can overcome anything.

As a filmmaker, Toby believes in the power of film and television to unite people, provide representation, and foster empathy for experiences beyond our own. They are especially drawn to stop-motion animation, children’s media, and work that defies expectations. Whether completing tasks for internships, working on school projects, or pursuing personal creations, Toby embraces imagination and determination in every endeavor.

Currently, Toby is attending Columbia College Chicago’s semester in L.A. program before graduation and is gaining professional experience through a development internship at Buffalo 8.
