For over 6 years, BrELT has been dedicated to providing an online forum for teachers to discuss their teaching practices, reflect, share tips, materials and opportunities.

The Rio Edition - Coming together to share, learn and grow event will allow our members to experience the same collaboration, development and networking that takes place online but in a face-to-face format.

Valeria França - Plenary Speaker

Valéria França graduated as a primary school teacher in the UK and following initial ELT training at International House London, she moved to Brazil in the early 90’s. She has worked in ELT for over 25 years and is the Head of Teacher Development at Cultura Inglesa. Her PhD research was in SLA, Social Cultural Theory and the language classroom. She is a workshop and plenary presenter at many ELT conferences. Her current research interest lies in teachers' personal relationships with their teaching persona and space. She is a member of the Visual Arts Circle (https://visualartscircle.com/), a BRAZ-TESOL Past President (2015-2016 term) and a BRAZ-TESOL Advisory Council life-time member. CECILIA LEMOS - Plenary Speaker

Cecilia Lemos has been working with ELT since 1993 and is the Academic Coach for Educate in the Northeast of Brazil. She has worked a teacher trainer, writer, coordinator and teacher. She’s president of the Braz-tesol chapter in Pernambuco and a member of IATEFL’s Teacher Development SIG committee. Her main interests are feedback, correction and lesson observation.

Besides all that, Cecilia was also one of the first BrELT Moderators.
