Projects
Determination of granular geomaterial properties using AI techniques [July 2019- June 2021]
Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad, India
In geotechnical engineering characterization of tailings as a geomaterial is a very important issue. Tailings from mines impose danger to society as the failure of tailing storage dams is evident from time to time. Mostly these tailings are non-plastic in nature and can be treated like coarse grained soil. This research is an attempt towards establishing a correlation between critical state parameters with extreme void ratios and stress parameters of these geomaterials. The soft computing techniques require less time and resources to do the desired task and to achieve a targeted efficiency. Keeping this in mind the current study is focused on the determination of different properties of granular materials using some AI based methodologies.
