Camp Directors

This is Jared Goldstein’s 13th year as Director of Break-Away Basketball Camp, LLC. He has been a Middlesex Blue Jay basketball coach at multiple levels for both boys and girls, for the past 17 years. For the last 12 years, Coach Goldstein has been at the helm of the Boys Varsity Program.

Coach Goldstein enjoys instilling a love of basketball for all those who participate. His passion and commitment tend to transfer to all involved. Also, Coach Goldstein is dedicated to making sure all athletes enjoy their experience at camp because it is during these events that a child begins to develop a true love for the sport.

Associate Camp Director - Stew Lester

Coach Lester Bio

Breakaway Basketball co-director, Stewart Lester was the former Girls Varsity Basketball Coach for Middlesex, but now he is entering his 2nd season as the Varsity Head Coach for the Middletown North Boys Basketball Program.

When with the Middlesex Boys Program, Coach Lester made an immediate impact; he assisted with day-to-day operations within the program that helped guide the Blue Jays to a trip to the 2020 CJG1 sectional semifinal. In addition, that same team finished with the third most wins in a season in school history. Along the way, he has helped groom two members of the program reach the 1,000 career points milestone, Mark Brower and Michael Salvatore… both of whom were campers in years past at Breakaway! He is a graduate of Centenary University where he was a four-year member of the Men’s Basketball team. A Middlesex High School alumni where he received numerous post-season honors, including the team’s second leading scorer and Pure Passion Award winner for most dedicated player to the program.
