This course is for students who want to use English to learn about legal, political, business and other issues.
本科目は、法律、政治、ビジネスなどについて、英語を使って学びたい学生を対象とします。
This course will further develop your confidence for communicating actively in English. Working in cycles of 4-6 weeks, you will use English to learn about social, political, legal and global issues of interest to you. In the first part of the course, you will raise your ability to research and understand issues. You will also improve your ability to explain, give presentations on, and discuss your research in pairs and small groups. In the second part of the course, you will further develop these abilities, choosing issues of interest to research and discuss in pairs and small groups.
この授業では積極的に英語でコミュニケーションを行なう自信をさらに高めることを目的とする。４－６週間の単位で、興味をもった社会、政治、法律およびグローバルな問題について、英語で学ぶ。前半では、様々な問題について英語で調べ、理解する能力を高める。さらにペアや少人数のグループで、調べたことに関して説明し、プレゼンテーションをして、ディスカッションする能力を培う。後半ではこの能力をさらに発達させ、ペアや少人数のグループで課題を選び、調べ、議論する。
Grades are 100% determined by continuous assessment. Requirements to pass this course: no more than 3 absences, active participation in class activities, weekly preparation of 1-2 hours outside class, and timely completion of assignments. Further details will be provided by the teacher at the start of the semester.
成績は100％平常点で決まります。ただし単位を修得するには、特段の理由がない限り、学期中の欠席は3回を超えないこと、毎週1－2時間授業外の準備を行うこと、さらに課題を全て指定された締め切りまでに仕上げることが必要です。詳細は学期の開始に担当教員が説明します。
