4-H is a youth development program that focuses on empowering young people through hands-on learning and leadership opportunities. Texas 4-H offers a wide range of activities and projects in areas like agriculture, STEM, health, community service, & MORE. The program is designed for youth ages 8 to 18 and aims to help them develop life skills such as responsibility, teamwork, and leadership.
Participants can engage in various projects, including livestock showing, public speaking, robotics, shooting sports & more. The program is supported by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and relies heavily on volunteers, including adult mentors who guide and support the youth in their endeavors.
Through competitions, camps, and community service projects, Texas 4-H members can gain valuable experiences that prepare them for future careers and active citizenship. The program also emphasizes the importance of giving back to the community, with many 4-H members involved in local service initiatives.
