Review of Bravo Yogurt, invented by Dr. Marco Ruggiero, M.D., Ph.D. vs ActiveBRAVO, formulated by Dr. Heinz Reinwald
What are the differences?
Bravo Yogurt is based on a very wide array of fermenting cultures that are exclusive to Bravo, gastro-resistant strains in a very specific ratio and Swiss colostrum.
The quality and efficacy of Bravo Yogurt is demonstrated by years of laboratory testing and validated in numerous published scientific studies.
In contrast, ActiveBRAVO is a blend of some fermenting microbes that doesn’t contain gastro-resistant strains or colostrum from Switzerland. Its efficacy and safety is not scientifically supported. The product is packaged in a way that does not guarantee the quality and safety of the product.
Fermenting Cultures
Bravo Yogurt contains a proprietary formulation of fermenting cultures that provides all the strains necessary to make a yogurt and also all the ferments that are necessary to make a kefir. So, the fermented Bravo Yogurt combines the properties of both yogurt and kefir. These fermenting cultures are specified on the Bravo Yogurt label as cultured kefir grains. They are responsible for the great biodiversity of Bravo Yogurt and are enriched in four separate strains of Bifidobacteria.
ActiveBRAVO only contains some fermenting strains, but no cultured kefir grains. The strains of Bifidobacteria provided are not disclosed.
Gastro-Resistant Strains
Bravo Yogurt contains eight gastro-resistant strains that are unaffected by gastric acidity and reach the gut at full potency.
ActiveBRAVO does not contain any gastro-resistant strains.
Colostrum
Bravo Yogurt contains Swiss colostrum collected from biodynamic farms that are Demeter certified.
The source of colostrum in ActiveBRAVO is undisclosed.
Packaging
In addition to these differences, it is critical to emphasize that ActiveBRAVO by Dr. Reinwald is one blend, combining all the ingredients in a single packet, with no separation between the components. Numerous studies have shown that combining a blend of colostrum and fermenting cultures, over time, seriously compromises the stability of the blend. Fermenting cultures in the presence of colostrum begin multiplying, with some strains overcoming others. This produces a dramatic change in the original ratio that was expected to produce fermented ActiveBRAVO, with all of its intended properties.
Dr. Ruggiero designed the Bravo Yogurt formulation after hundreds of experiments that produced the current formula and packaging.
At a first glance, having a single packet to dissolve in milk seems easier than using three different sachets. But the packaging used for Bravo Yogurt is scientifically validated to provide a stable, long-lasting product, keeping its characteristics for its entire shelf life.
Summary
In conclusion, ActiveBRAVO by Dr. Reinwald is just a blend of few fermenting strains and colostrum in a packaging that can easily compromise the quality and safety of the product. This blend can be used to obtain a fermented product that in contrast is very far from the biodiverse and accurately designed formula of the original Bravo Yogurt.
