Welcome to MeloMusic Player ("we," "our," or "the App"), developed by Boifolah. We are deeply committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you use MeloMusic Player, specifically addressing local device permissions, third-party advertising, and Google Advertising ID (AAID) collection.

1. Zero Cloud Storage for Your Media Files

• Local Processing Only: MeloMusic Player is an offline media player. All your songs, audio tracks, videos, playlists, album artwork, and custom sound effects are processed and played locally on your device.

• We never upload, transmit, scan, or store your private audio recordings, music files, or personal videos to any external server or cloud storage.

2. Information Collected Automatically & Advertising ID (AAID)

Although MeloMusic Player does not require user accounts or collect personal identification like your name, email, or phone number, we work with third-party service providers (specifically Google AdMob) to serve advertisements that support the free version of the App.

A. Google Advertising ID (AAID / Ad ID)

• What is collected: The Google Advertising ID is a unique, user-resettable identifier assigned to your Android device by Google Play Services.

• Why it is collected:

  • Ad Personalization: Serving ads relevant to your interests (if opted in).

  • Ad Frequency Capping: Ensuring you do not repeatedly see the exact same advertisement.

  • Ad Measurement & Fraud Prevention: Detecting bot clicks, measuring ad conversions, and verifying legitimate impressions.

• How to Opt Out / Reset: You can reset or completely delete your Advertising ID at any time on your Android device:

  • Open Settings > Privacy (or Google) > Ads.

  • Tap Reset advertising ID or Delete advertising ID, or toggle Opt out of Ads Personalization.

B. Device & Diagnostic Information

Our analytics and crash reporting tools (such as Firebase Crashlytics) may collect:

• Device model, manufacturer, and operating system version (e.g., Android 14/15).

• Screen resolution and system language settings.

• Anonymous crash logs, stack traces, and app performance metrics to identify and fix technical glitches.

• IP address (used solely for coarse, non-precise geographic ad serving and network diagnostics).

3. Device Permissions & Why They Are Required

MeloMusic Player requests specific Android system permissions. Each permission is strictly used to deliver local app functionality:

Required by Android to keep your music playing seamlessly in the background and on your lock screen with notification controls.

Phone State

READ_PHONE_STATE

Used solely to detect incoming and outgoing phone calls so the music automatically pauses during a call and resumes when you hang up. We do not read or record your phone calls or contact list.

Modify System Settings

WRITE_SETTINGS

Used only when you choose to use the Ringtone Trimmer to set an edited audio clip as your default phone ringtone, notification, or alarm.

Wake Lock

WAKE_LOCK

Keeps the CPU active during playback and prevents the screen from going off or sleeping while watching videos.

System Alert Window

SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW

Enables the floating Picture-in-Picture (PiP) pop-up video player while you use other apps.

Notifications

POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Displays the media playback notification with play, pause, next, and previous buttons.

4. Third-Party Services & SDKs

Our app integrates trusted third-party SDKs that have their own privacy policies:

5. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

If you purchase Melos Pro (Remove Ads, Studio Equalizer, or Lifetime License):

• All payments and transactions are processed directly by Google Play In-App Billing.

• We never collect, store, or have access to your credit card, debit card, or billing credentials.

• Upgrading to Pro completely disables Google AdMob and halts all third-party advertising SDK tracking.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

MeloMusic Player is not directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to remove it.

7. Your Data Rights (GDPR & CCPA / CPRA)

Depending on your location, you may have rights under the European Union GDPR or California CCPA:

• Right to Opt-Out: You can opt out of personalized interest-based advertising via Android system settings.

• Right to Erasure: Since we do not maintain accounts or store your data on cloud servers, uninstalling the app deletes all local cache, playlists, and preferences from your device.

Part 2: Google Play Console "Data Safety" Questionnaire Cheat Sheet

When filling out the Data Safety section in Google Play Console, use these exact responses:

1. Does your app collect or share any user data?

   • Answer: Yes (due to Google AdMob and Crashlytics).

2. Is all of the user data collected by your app encrypted in transit?

   • Answer: Yes (all ad and analytics traffic uses HTTPS/TLS).

3. Do you provide a way for users to request that their data be deleted?

   • Answer: Yes (by uninstalling the app or resetting/deleting their Advertising ID in Android settings).

4. Data Types Breakdown:

   • Device or other IDs > Advertising ID:

     • Collected? Yes.

     • Shared? Yes (shared with third-party ad networks via Google AdMob).

     • Ephemeral? No.

     • Required or optional? Required for free version / Can be disabled by upgrading to Pro.

     • Purposes: Advertising or marketing, Analytics, Fraud prevention and security.

   • App info and performance > Crash logs & Diagnostics:

     • Collected? Yes (via Crashlytics).

     • Shared? No.

     • Purposes: Analytics, App functionality.

   • Audio / Videos / Photos:

     • Collected? NO (Processed purely locally on-device. Google Play guidelines specify that data accessed only on-device without transmission off-device is NOT considered "collected").

Part 3: Terms and Conditions (Terms of Service)

Effective Date: September 2026

By downloading, installing, or using MeloMusic Player ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. License & Permitted Use

• We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use MeloMusic Player for personal, non-commercial entertainment on your Android devices.

• You agree not to decompile, reverse-engineer, modify, or distribute copies of the App's source code or assets.

2. User Media & Copyright Responsibilities

• MeloMusic Player is a local playback tool: The App does not provide, host, download, or distribute audio or video files.

• You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the lawful right, license, or ownership to play and edit metadata of any music or video files stored on your device.

• We do not endorse or support copyright infringement or the unauthorized reproduction of copyrighted content.

3. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

• Optional premium upgrades ("Melos Pro", "Lifetime Access", "Annual Subscription", "Monthly Subscription") are offered via Google Play In-App Billing.

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing cycle through your Google Play Account Settings.

• Payments, refunds, and cancellations are governed by Google Play's standard refund policies.

4. Third-Party Advertisements

• The free version of the App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob.

• We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or products advertised in third-party ad banners or interstitials.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

• MeloMusic Player is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

• We do not guarantee that playback will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with corrupted or non-standard media encoding formats.

6. Limitation of Liability

• To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Boifolah and the MeloMusic Player development team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the App, including loss of data or device malfunctions.

7. Changes to Terms

• We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Continued use of the App following updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
