Discover the Arts Camps

Our Discover the Arts camps offer an affordable, week-long experience where students dive into various fine arts disciplines, sparking curiosity, creativity, and self-expression. Each camp provides a rich environment where students can experiment with different art forms, led by passionate instructors and designed to accommodate beginners as well as those looking to deepen their skills.

Throughout the week, students will actively engage in hands-on projects and performances across three core areas: Visual Arts, Theatre, and Music. By exploring each discipline, they gain a well-rounded understanding of the arts, build confidence in their creative abilities, and discover new ways to express themselves.

The camp week concludes with a special showcase featuring local arts organizations, where students and their families can learn more about ongoing arts opportunities in the community. It’s a fantastic way for students to continue their journey beyond camp and stay connected with the local arts scene.

Camp Focus Areas

Visual Arts
In the Visual Arts segment, students delve into various artistic techniques, from drawing and painting to sculpture and mixed media. Guided by experienced artists, they learn foundational skills and are encouraged to experiment with color, form, and design. This hands-on approach helps students develop their artistic voice and creativity, culminating in a mini-exhibition where they proudly display their creations.

Theatre
The Theatre portion of the camp introduces students to the world of performance, storytelling, and self-expression. Through interactive workshops, they explore acting basics, improv exercises, character development, and stage presence. Students collaborate to create a short performance piece, enhancing skills like teamwork, public speaking, and empathy. It’s an empowering experience that fosters confidence both on and off the stage.

Magic
The Magic segment invites students into the enchanting world of illusion, wonder, and creative showmanship. Led by skilled magicians, campers learn beginner-friendly tricks using cards, coins, props, and sleight-of-hand basics. They’ll explore presentation skills, audience engagement, and the art of building mystery—all while practicing curiosity, patience, and confidence. By the end of the week, students perform a mini magic showcase, delighting friends and family with the tricks they’ve mastered and the joy of creating a little onstage magic of their own.

Community Arts Resources
Throughout the camps, community resources will be highlighted. Information will be given on the last day of each camp week..
