For this project we could come up with a game concept we wanted to work on. We had to pitch this idea to fellow students and to several teachers.
Bellow: presentation we had to give to introduce our game concept.
Once our concept was approved of we started to concept several things: narrative, characters, mechanics and levels.
We also made a facebook page to keep people updated: https://www.facebook.com/BrassLining/ (and made this site).
To know who our target audience was and if they liked puzzle games, we made a questionnaire. Below we will share the document with the results (all answers were anonymous). This way we know what who our target audience is, what they like, dislike and what puzzle games are their favorites.
We organized a gamejam. This way we can work closely with one another and have a prototype done at the end of the second day. The presentation below will show the proces and pictures of those days.
We wanted to have a prototype finished by the end of the second day. The mechanics work, but the room is far from finished.
We made a promotion plan with how we will present our game on Post Mortem and what to do to get attention so people are aware of the process and when they can play our game. See the document bellow for a short summary.
To make a game look and feel right, the environments are important. Our players will be cruising and working on a steampunk themed zeppelin, so the environments have to feel like that!
Here are some screenshots of the rooms in process. (They aren't finished yet!)
You can even see one of our proud and handsome captain! Are you ready to get to work as the new mechanic?
