Submission Instructions

The workshop will accept submissions of consolidated contributions (full papers) and works in progress (short papers), which include tools/applications (demo tools) and dataset papers, written in Portuguese or English. Complete and summarized articles cannot exceed 12 (+2 for references) and 6 pages (+1 for references), respectively. Submissions must follow the Brazilian Computing Society (SBC) template, which is available at http://tinyurl.com/sbc-template-artigos.

Full papers (Consolidated Contributions) should be evaluated using the following criteria: adequacy to the scope of the workshop, relevance, technical quality, clarity, originality and evaluation of the results. The evaluation of the results is desired, but it is not a precondition for article submission. All accepted full papers must be presented orally.

Work in progress (short papers) will be evaluated using the same criteria. Short articles in the dataset papers category will also be evaluated for the availability of data and metadata in a public repository. The Work in progress accepted will also be published in the event annals. Authors must make posters (using the event pattern) to be presented in the indicated sessions. Tools and applications should demonstrate. All works in progress will participate in the Pitch session (or minute madness) depending on the number of works in progress accepted.

The submitted works, regardless of type, will be evaluated “blindly” (double-blind review), omitting any identification of their authors, as well as their reviewers. Each review will be done by a minimum of 3 program committee members. We aim for exemption and impartiality in the double-blind review process, so we analyze possible conflicts of interest in the process on a case-by-case basis and also qualitatively evaluate the reviews. We reiterate that the Steering Committee of BraSNAM works actively with the members of the technical committee to provide constructive reviews to the authors.

The scheme below summarizes the long and short articles with the respective types of work and page limit that will be accepted in BraSNAM 2024.

Consolidated contributions (12 pages + 2 extras for references)

Work in Progress and Datasets (6 pages + 1 extra for references)

The submissions to BraSNAM must follow the SBC Code of Conduct for Authors in Publications, which can be accessed here: https://sol.sbc.org.br/index.php/indice/conduta

Our community also seeks to follow good open science practices. Issue 46 of "Revista Computação Brasil" deals with the Role of Computing in Open Science. In this opportunity, we encourage authors to make source codes and database available whenever possible, aiming at transparency and replicability.

The submission of works will be exclusively electronic through the SBC JEMS System:
