Prayer Times

This Privacy Policy explains how the Prayer Times mobile application ("the App", "we", "us") handles your information. By installing or using the App you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Summary

We do not require you to create an account or provide your name, email, or phone number.
We do not operate our own servers and we do not collect or store your personal data ourselves.
Your settings and location are stored locally on your device.
The App shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects certain data as described below.

2. Location Information

The App uses your device location to calculate accurate prayer times and the Qibla (direction of prayer) for where you are:

If you choose automatic mode, the App accesses your approximate or precise device location (GPS) to determine prayer times and Qibla direction.
If you choose manual mode, the App uses the city/coordinates you select instead of GPS.
Your location and chosen city are stored only on your device (in the App's local settings) so prayer times can be recalculated and rescheduled, including after your device restarts.
We do not transmit your location to our own servers. Location is used on-device for calculations.

You can change or disable location access at any time in your device's system settings, or switch the App to manual mode.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google and its partners may collect and process data such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, general location, and app interaction data, in accordance with their own policies. This may be used to show personalised or non-personalised ads.

You can opt out of personalised advertising or reset your advertising identifier in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads on Android).

4. Permissions We Request

Location — to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction.
Internet — to load advertisements.
Alarms & exact alarms — to notify you and play the Azan at prayer times.
Run at startup (boot) — to restore your scheduled prayer alarms after the device restarts.
Foreground service & full-screen notification — to reliably play the Azan and show the prayer alert.
Vibrate — for prayer-time alerts.
Ignore battery optimizations (optional) — to help ensure alarms fire on time; you may decline this.

5. Data Storage and Retention

Your preferences (such as region mode, selected city/coordinates, per-prayer alarm settings, and any custom Azan sound you select) are saved locally on your device. This data remains on your device until you clear the App's data or uninstall the App. If you have enabled Android's backup feature, your app settings may be backed up to your Google account by the operating system.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Advertising is provided by third parties as described above.

7. Your Choices

Revoke location permission in system settings or use manual mode.
Reset or limit ad personalisation via your device's ad settings.
Clear all locally stored data by clearing the App's data or uninstalling it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised policy.
