BrainBluff: Tricky Puzzles ("BrainBluff", "the Game", "we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use BrainBluff, how that information is used, which third-party services are involved, and the choices available to users.
BrainBluff is intended for users aged 13 and older.
BrainBluff is not intended for children under the age of 13.
The Game asks the user to provide their age during initial setup. The age entered is stored locally on the device and is used to determine whether the user is eligible to use the Game and to configure appropriate advertising and consent behavior.
Users who indicate that they are under 13 are blocked from entering the Game.
We do not intentionally collect personal information from children under 13.
The exact age entered by the user is not sent to the BrainBluff referral service.
BrainBluff does not create or maintain a separate BrainBluff user account.
Users can play the core game without creating an account.
Users may optionally connect to Google Play Games Services using an existing Google account for features such as player identity and the public world leaderboard.
Google Play Games sign-in is optional and is not required for core puzzle gameplay.
Google accounts and Google Play Games profiles are managed by Google.
BrainBluff stores gameplay and preference information locally on the user's device so that the Game can remember progress and settings.
This may include:
Player name
Age entered during setup
Completed levels
Game progress
Coins
Hints and skips
Virtual items
Selected character
Language
Music and sound preferences
Privacy and permission preferences
Daily or weekly reward status
Locally stored achievements
Referral status
Purchase entitlement information used to prevent duplicate rewards or purchases
Most gameplay progress is not cloud-saved by BrainBluff in the current version.
Clearing BrainBluff's app data or uninstalling the Game may remove locally stored progress unless a platform service independently retains related information.
BrainBluff uses a pseudonymous referral service to operate the "Refer a Friend" feature, generate and preserve invitation codes, validate referrals, award referral rewards, prevent duplicate rewards, and reduce abuse.
The referral service may receive only the following BrainBluff application fields:
A pseudonymous installation identifier
A random installation secret
The number of completed levels
The referral / invite code of the player who invited the user, when applicable
An existing invite code already associated with the installation, when applicable, so previously shared invitation links can continue to work
The random installation secret is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The referral service stores only a one-way SHA-256 hash of that secret rather than the readable secret itself.
The completed-level count is used to determine whether the gameplay requirement for a referral reward has been reached.
The referral request does not include:
Player display name
Exact age
Language
Coin balance
Maximum unlocked level
Puzzle completion time
Number of days played
Email address
Google account information
Google Play Games profile name
Phone number
Advertising ID
Payment information
Earlier versions of BrainBluff sent some additional gameplay fields to the previous referral backend. These fields are no longer sent because they are not required for referral functionality.
A referred player becomes eligible for the referral reward only after reaching the required gameplay milestone.
No purchase is required to qualify for a referral reward.
BrainBluff's pseudonymous referral service is hosted using Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare D1, provided by Cloudflare, Inc.
Cloudflare processes the referral information described in Section 4 on BrainBluff's behalf to provide hosting and database functionality.
Like other internet service providers, Cloudflare may also process normal connection and security metadata required to deliver the service, such as IP address and network request information.
Cloudflare does not receive through the BrainBluff referral request the user's display name, exact age, Google account, Google Play Games profile, coin balance, purchases, advertising ID, or other unrelated gameplay information.
BrainBluff may use Google Play Games Services for optional authentication and a single public world leaderboard.
Google may process information associated with the user's Google Play Games profile and interaction with those services, including gamer identity or profile information, leaderboard scores, and related service information.
If a user views the world leaderboard, BrainBluff may request public leaderboard information from Google, including public player names, profile images, scores, and the user's own ranking where available.
BrainBluff does not currently use Google Play Games Achievements.
Achievements displayed inside BrainBluff are stored locally on the device and are not submitted to Google Play Games.
BrainBluff does not use Google Play Games as a cloud-save system for the user's complete local game inventory or progress.
The world leaderboard score is derived from gameplay performance. Coins, purchases, and advertising do not affect that score.
Google Play Games Services are operated by Google and are subject to Google's own privacy policies and account controls.
BrainBluff does not receive the user's Google account password.
BrainBluff uses Google AdMob to display advertising, including optional rewarded advertisements.
Users may choose to watch a rewarded advertisement in exchange for an in-game benefit such as coins, hints, or other game rewards.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect or process information for advertising, measurement, security, fraud prevention, diagnostics, and service operation.
Depending on Google services, SDK configuration, device settings, applicable law, and user consent, this may include information such as:
IP address
Advertising or app identifiers
Ad views and interactions
App interactions
Device and app information
Diagnostic information
Performance information
Security and fraud-prevention information
BrainBluff does not request precise GPS location for advertising purposes.
An IP address may be used by Google or other service providers to estimate a general geographic area.
Where required by applicable law, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and other applicable regions, BrainBluff uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to provide privacy and advertising consent choices.
Users aged 13–17 are configured for age-restricted or minor advertising treatment and are not intended to receive personalized advertising.
Users aged 18 or older may receive personalized or non-personalized advertising depending on consent choices, device settings, applicable law, and Google's requirements.
Where available, users can review or change advertising consent choices through Google's consent interface, Google account privacy controls, or Android privacy settings.
A privacy request sent directly to BrainBluff does not necessarily disable processing independently performed by Google AdMob.
BrainBluff offers optional in-app purchases through Google Play Billing.
These may include virtual coins, level skips, cosmetic characters, or other optional digital game benefits.
Payments are processed by Google Play.
BrainBluff does not receive or store full credit card numbers, bank account numbers, or other full payment credentials.
Google Play may provide BrainBluff with limited purchase-related information necessary to verify and deliver a purchase, such as:
Product identifier
Purchase state
Purchase token
Quantity
Entitlement status
BrainBluff may store purchase entitlement information locally to prevent duplicate in-game grants.
Virtual BrainBluff coins and rewards have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for real-world money.
BrainBluff uses Google Play Install Referrer for the referral feature.
When a user installs BrainBluff after following an eligible invitation link, Google Play may provide the referral information associated with that installation to the Game.
This information is used to associate an invited installation with the applicable BrainBluff referral code.
Install Referrer information is not used by BrainBluff to identify the user's real-world identity.
Certain BrainBluff puzzles may use device motion sensors, for example to detect shaking or movement.
Motion sensor information is processed locally and is not transmitted to the BrainBluff referral service.
BrainBluff may also use vibration, audio playback, music, and sound effects as part of gameplay.
BrainBluff does not require access to the user's:
Camera
Precise or approximate device location permission
Contacts
Photos or videos
Personal files or documents
Calendar
Microphone
for normal gameplay.
BrainBluff does not intentionally collect these categories of information.
Third-party internet services may process IP addresses as part of normal network communication, which can sometimes be used to estimate a general geographic area.
The current version of BrainBluff does not use a separate general-purpose player analytics SDK such as Firebase Analytics.
Third-party services used by BrainBluff, including Google Mobile Ads, Google Play, Google Play Billing, Google Play Games Services, and Cloudflare, may process service, diagnostic, security, performance, or interaction information under their respective terms and privacy policies.
BrainBluff does not use fingerprinting technology to create its own cross-app advertising profile of users.
BrainBluff is not a health, medical, or fitness application and does not collect health information for those purposes.
BrainBluff is not a financial services application.
BrainBluff does not provide banking services, loans, investments, cryptocurrency services, transferable digital assets, NFTs, or cash rewards.
Purchases available in the Game relate only to digital game content.
BrainBluff does not sell or rent personal information.
Information may be processed by service providers where necessary to provide BrainBluff functionality.
These services may include:
Google Play
Google Play Games Services
Google Play Billing
Google AdMob
Google's User Messaging Platform
Google Play Install Referrer
Cloudflare Workers
Cloudflare D1
These service providers may process information according to their own terms, privacy policies, security requirements, and legal obligations.
BrainBluff does not share locally stored gameplay information with independent data brokers or unrelated marketing companies.
Locally stored gameplay information generally remains on the user's device until it is cleared, overwritten, or removed by uninstalling BrainBluff.
Pseudonymous referral records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to:

We aim to retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes.
Information processed independently by Google or Cloudflare may also be retained according to their respective policies and legal obligations.

Limited information may be retained when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or service integrity.

Information controlled directly by Google Play, Google Play Games Services, Google AdMob, or Google Play Billing must be managed through the user's applicable Google account, privacy, advertising, or service settings.
BrainBluff uses reasonable technical measures designed to protect information processed by the Game.
Data transmitted between BrainBluff and its online services is transmitted using encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections.
The BrainBluff referral service stores a one-way hash of the installation secret rather than the readable secret.
