Brain and Wellness Center

Start your brain wellness journey.

The brain is the primary control center for your body. Without it, you would not be alive. However, the brain has a secondary purpose: It’s responsible for controlling your physical, emotional, and mental states. Like our bodies, the brain moves through an aging process, suffering both reversible and irreversible damage, and becoming more fragile over time. The way the brain ages and the symptoms the process produces are individual. Damage, or aging to the brain can occur in several ways, but most commonly through natural brain aging or injury. To support and enhance brain health as you age, consider seeking help from The Brain Wellness Center.

At the Brain Wellness Center, we understand the challenges associated with natural brain aging and offer tailored solutions to help manage and improve cognitive health. Explore how we can support your brain wellness journey today.

Brain health is a complex topic that affects everyone. We live in an aging society and are living longer than ever before. With individuals living an average of 78 years in theUS, the brain’s life has been extended longer than before and is therefore, more prone to age-related diseases. In the US alone, there are 5.7 million individuals living with Alzheimer's disease - and this number is predicted to triple to 15 million by 2050. Besides Alzheimer’s dementia there are a number of other neurodegenerative diseases, both age-related and due to genetic mutations, as well as related to trauma including traumatic brain injuries and post concussion syndromes.

THE DIFFERENT WAYS YOUR BRAIN AGES

Natural Brain Aging is inherent to our aging process, however, the rate at which the brain ages varies from person to person. Brain aging symptoms can start to show in an individual as early as in their 40s or 50s - most commonly as memory lapses. From minor memory lapses to tiredness, we caffeinate to combat these symptoms however, we’re not curing the underlying causes of natural brain degeneration. As your brain ages, you may notice:

  • Forgetting appointments; important or otherwise

  • Slowed multi-tasking capabilities

  • Difficulty in learning something new

  • Difficulty in recalling numbers and names

Neurodegenerative Diseases cause your brain to prematurely deteriorate over a period of time by damaging tissues and nerves. Examples include: Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer dementia, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and Huntington’s disease.

For such diseases, damage is progressive and permanent.

Brain Injuries are a result of damage to brain tissue, nerves, and/or neurons arising from blunt trauma.
