In order to join Braidwood Swimming Club, swimmers must register with Swimming Australia at Swim Central.
Membership categories this season are based on swimmers' ability/ activity (not age):
'Starter' membership is for children swimming kickboard or 1 lap races only;
'Racer' membership is for kids who are swimming 3 lap races in any stroke;
'Inter-club' membership is for swimmers who want to compete in regional inter-club carnivals organised by Swimming NSW - There are a few of these carnivals over summer (e.g. Goulburn invitational on 4 December) and a further 3 or 4 carnivals through winter. Swimmers will need this membership type to be able to enter these carnivals under the SwimCentral system (Note that this type of membership is NOT required to swim at interschool carnivals under the school competition system, it only applies to SwimmingNSW events);
Active Kids vouchers can be used to pay for memberships. For the 'Starter' and 'Racer' memberships please use the 'Racer Voucher Deal' membership product if paying by voucher - kids will receive a free Braidwood Swimming Club swim cap as part of this deal and the club receives a higher proportion of funds.
Formal membership is required to be in place once children have swum at three club race nights. Members can upgrade their membership to the next category whenever they are ready, by paying the difference between the membership types on Swim Central.
A proportion of each membership fee goes to Swimming NSW/ Swimming Australia who cover the club's insurance and support regional inter-club events. The remaining fee proportion received by the club will help pay for lane hire costs and certificates/ medals to be presented to the kids at the end of the season.
