I'm Brady Atwood. I have been a neuroscience researcher for over twenty years. Ever since I was nine years old, I dreamed that I would one day publish my own fantasy series of novels, and that dream is finally coming true!

Wards of the Rift is the first book in The Nightmare King series. This first entry is just a little step into an expansive world where not everything is as it seems. It explores what would happen if dreams could enter reality. It grapples with questions of free will, whether there are higher powers at work in the characters' lives, and what a character does when life just seems to keep getting worse.

As a scientist in the mental health area of research, I also included characters that struggle with mental health problems and how they would deal with difficult circumstances. Even heroes can struggle with their thoughts and feelings.
