Pay for class(es) by clicking on Brady's Paypal or via Zelle. (If you wish to donate using Zelle, simply log into your account and search for “415-378-7690.” The account is under the name “Hugh Meakin,” our founder.)
*All proceeds are considered a donation to Brady Therapeutic Riding and are tax-deductible. All fees are non-refundable.
For 1 class, the price is $99
For 2 classes, the price is $159
For 3 classes, the price is $249
$10 Materials Fee paid directly to the instructor at the time of class (either cash or Venmo @Isabelle-Truchon).

Program Details:
Brady’s Equine Art Program, developed by award-winning artist Isabelle Truchon, is open to adults and children 14 years and up. Participants are exposed to a variety of media and fun hands-on techniques in a natural equestrian environment. Each class tackles a project (or two) from start to completion. The atmosphere is fun and non-competitive, encouraging observation and exploration.
These classes are generously donated by artist Isabelle Truchon, who is traveling down from Oregon to provide them.

Each class is 3 hours long, with breaks. Spaces are in high demand and will fill up quickly, so please sign up early!

WATERCOLOR PAINTING FOR ALL LEVELS -- HORSE & ABSTRACT LANDSCAPE
Join our Brady Watercolor Art Class, perfect for beginners to advanced artists! In this inclusive and engaging course, you'll explore the enchanting world of watercolor painting through hands-on activities, expert demonstrations, and some personalized guidance. Discover fundamental techniques, from basic washes and color mixing to advanced layering and textures, while experimenting with the subjects of landscape and the horse. Whether you're just starting your artistic journey or looking to refine your skills, this class offers a supportive environment to inspire creativity and artistic growth.
All materials provided for an additional $10 fee to artist—or bring your own, along with your passion for art!

CHARCOAL DRAWING FOR ALL LEVELS -- HORSE & PET PORTRAITS
Discover the expressive and dynamic medium of charcoal in our Charcoal Drawing Art Class, suitable for artists of all levels! This comprehensive course covers essential techniques, from basic mark-making and shading to advanced rendering and composition. You'll learn how to create depth, contrast, and texture while exploring form, line, and pattern in the subjects of the horse and a pet**. Whether you're a beginner eager to learn the basics or an experienced artist looking to enhance your skills, Isabelle will provide personalized guidance and support in a friendly, creative environment.
**Bring a paper photograph (ideally on 8 1/2" x 11" paper, do not rely on your phone) of your subject if you would like to paint a specific portrait. Photographs of animal portraits will be available to students.
All materials are provided for an additional $10 fee to artist — or bring your own, along with your enthusiasm for drawing!

ACRYLIC PAINTING FOR ALL LEVELS -- HORSE
Unleash your creativity with our Acrylic Painting Art Class, designed for artists of all levels! This vibrant and versatile medium offers endless possibilities for expression. In this class, you'll explore fundamental techniques such as color mixing, brushwork, and layering, progressing to more advanced methods like texture creation and glazing. Artist Isabelle Truchon will guide you through creating a portrait of one of Brady’s horses, offering personalized feedback and support. Whether you're a beginner looking to grasp the basics or an advanced artist aiming to refine your skills, this class provides a welcoming and inspiring environment.
All materials provided for an additional $10 fee to artist—or bring your own, along with your imagination and a passion for painting!

- Paper, any weight or color, canvas, stretched or not, wood panel or salvage
- A set of acrylic paints, gesso, and mediums such as Matt Medium, or thick paste
- Charcoal or pencil for sketching or drawing design of painting
- Paper towel roll
- Art brushes of all sizes
- Graphite paper for transferring the image (optional)
- Pencils (If transferring the image)
- Inspiration (photograph, concept drawing)
- Palette for paints

If attending Class #2 (Charcoal), please bring a printed photo of your pet (ideally on 8 1/2" x 11" paper). If you don't have a pet, Isabelle will provide photos to choose from.
Service animals are welcome.
Snacks and water will be provided.
Location & Parking:
The Brady Therapeutic Riding facility is located at the back of the San Francisco Zoo on Zoo Road. There is plenty of free street parking just before the back entrance to the Pomeroy Recreation and Rehabilitation Center on Zoo Road. Across from Pomeroy, you will see the zoo's Gate B. To the right of Gate B is the door to Brady, which is locked. (See map below.)
When you arrive, you'll need to call 415-608-2530 to be let inside.
