About Me:
I am a naturalist at heart and have always loved animals, nature and the peacefulness of the woods and water. I grew up in rural PA just north of Allegheny's campus, moved around a bit and settled down back in the Meadville area. Although I love everything wild, my formal training and education has led me to freshwater ecosystems where I study a variety of topics and critters including fishes (my favorite are non-game species), aquatic insects, freshwater mussels, amphibians and reptiles. In addition to being an Associate Professor, I am also the Co-Director for the Watershed Conservation Research Center (WCRC).
As I mentioned, I love my animals, so what better place to live than on a farm? At my house we have horses, cows, a mini donkey and mule, a dog and kitties. They keep me busy, along with my two kiddos and husband. My favorite place on the farm is in my barn, garden or walking along the stream in the woods.
Nothing beats the view between those ears!
