The 2025 Seal Tour was a success!
Our 2025 Seal Tour trip was a resounding success, thanks to the amazing efforts of Save the Bay and the unforgettable experiences we had. We were able to observe seals in their natural habitat, with one of the most amusing highlights being their "banana pose" behavior, where they lie on their backs, stretching out like a banana! Narragansett Bay provided the perfect backdrop, showcasing its rich marine life and breathtaking views. Sighting Rock, a well-known seal haul-out spot, offered a prime vantage point for us to witness these majestic creatures up close. It was a memorable and enriching experience, made even more special by the dedication of Save the Bay in preserving this beautiful ecosystem.
Keeping Narragansett Bay clean is crucial for harbor seals, as they rely on the Bay's healthy ecosystem for food and habitat. Pollution can degrade the quality of the water, harm the fish and other marine life seals depend on, and disturb their breeding and haul-out areas. Clean waters ensure a safe environment for harbor seals to thrive and maintain a stable population.
