Messy Problem
How many feet of power lines are there in the City of Canandaigua?
How many feet of power lines are there in the City of Canandaigua?
This process was a lot of fun. There are only one or two things I would do differently in the future but I learned a lot from this project.
After looking at this for so long, a couple things jumped out as questions.
Why aren't we further ahead when it comes to renewable energy and single home solar/renewable options. Every city like this could be way ahead when it comes to homes that produce power and sell it back into the grid, tax incentives, jobs, tourism, manufacturing and a plethora of other things could pay for the expense of making these changes. Homes that produce more power than they consume are not dreams anymore, the City of Canandaigua would be a great place to showcase some of these ideas.
Why have we never improved on buried cable technology?!? I understand how difficult weather has been and snow and rain and glacial rock etc but we live in an age where I can pour myself a Nitro Coffee in the morning and my bed warms my feet if it senses my sleep rhythm is in jeopardy of being interrupted, we can fix this.
If I could have my druthers:
1. I would like to know the actual answer to this question, I did reach out to the city and to RG&E but was not able to get the number of feet.
2. If I were to do this again or improve on it, I would get some actual pictures of my own from Canandaigua and explore the area myself, Macri's Deli is my favorite.
3. The flowchart would have been fun to record an audio walk through for.
