The basics of interviewing for a job as a college student are the same as those for interviewing for a job as any other professional--preparation is the key success, you should arrive on time, dress the part, exude confidence (without being arrogant), and develop a positive mental attitude, to name just a few.
However, interviewing for a job as a college student is also very different. For starters, this is probably going to be your first "career" job interview ever, and you don't have the same level of experience as a seasoned professional. Below, we're going to address the "Do's and Don't" of job interviewing for colleges students. However, before we get started, we recommend you first review the following two articles. They'll provide you a foundational knowledge of the job interview process.

Look for a real job posting online. Take a screenshot of the job posting and paste it on MS Word as evidence. You may also save the jobh posting as a PDF file. See example job postings below.

3. After identifying a job that you would want to apply and after watching the video, prepare your resume. Draft your resume in Canva only. This is required. You may follow the example resume for our class or the example resumes from the video. Below is an example resume for our class, BUT you may also use the templates on chronological and functional resumes above.
4. PLEASE submit the link of your Canva link of your resume in the google Sheet below (type your name, section, and paste the canva link of your draft resume).
5. The resume will be finalized with your prof. Please wait for further instructions for the finalization of the resume. At this point in time, WATCH THE FOLLOWING LECTURE ON HOW TO ANSWER THE MOST COMMON JOB INTERVIEW QUESTIONS.
5. The TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF question is one of the most important questions. To prepare yourself to answer this question, accomplish the following template (filled out as an example). Download the template, print the template, write your own answer, then submit your work to your professor.
