What is Emotional Intelligence.?
Emotional Intelligence learning teaches students the life skills and strategies that foster a student’s self-confidence and success now and in the future.
Emotional Intelligence. life skills break down into two categories for our students:
What thoughts and actions contribute to my success completing everyday tasks, as well as school assignments and projects?
What thoughts and actions contribute to having healthy relationships with others in my life?
Bethel Public Schools Strategic Plan
Goal
To develop and promote students' self-awareness, self-management, social-awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making; in order to improve students’ social and emotional well-being, and their performance in school and in life.
Theory of Action
If we develop a strong system for social emotional learning (SEL) by: implementing an Emotional Intelligence curriculum aligned to a research-based framework and/or standards, assessing student progress and needs, and organizing our responses to student needs in a multi-tiered system of interventions, then our students will develop the skills necessary to regulate their emotions, interact positively with others, and succeed in school and in life.
