Troop 511 has been promoting the values of Scouting in youth for over 20 years! By providing an open, inclusive, and fun atmosphere, as well as teaching the ideals and lessons found uniquely in the Scouting experience, we hope to instill the qualities of leadership, responsibility, and self reliance that will benefit both the Scouts and the community at large. Our adult leaders provide a safe and Scout-lead environment, while still offering help when it is needed. Although we are a smaller unit, Troop 511 makes a big impact. We do many community service projects, like installing park benches and landscaping, however we are not just about service. In our Troop, we strive to make each meeting fun and educational, as well as plan many different outings to apply and learn new skills (See our Gallery or Adventures page for more). Our unit is also highly decorated with many awards and competition victories. When you become a part of Troop 511, you are treated like you are a part of a family, and will make many friends in your time in the Troop. There will be many obstacles and challenges along the way, but with your fellow Scouts, Scoutmasters, and friends taking the journey with you, you will soon discover there isn't anything you can't do!
